#2. Which lane is closed for traffic going straight ahead?
Special above the pavement lights are sometimes used to indicate which lanes of a highway can be used at certain times:
- Steady red X: Do not drive in this lane.
- Steady yellow X: Move from this lane.
- Flashing yellow X: This lane can only be used for a left turn.
- Green arrow: You can use this lane.

#3. Trying to beat a truck to a highway exit is dangerous because:
Do not cut abruptly in front of a large vehicle. Large vehicles are not as maneuverable as cars. They take longer to stop. Cutting into the open space in front of a truck removes the truck driver’s cushion of safety.
When you exit, take a few additional seconds to decrease speed and exit behind a large vehicle. Do not try to beat a truck to a highway exit or a single-lane construction zone.
When you pass, do not pull in front of it unless you can see the whole front of the vehicle in your mirror.

#4. When passing and overtaking horses or horse-drawn vehicles:
The law requires you to be careful when you approach a horse being ridden or walked along a road. You must drive at an acceptable speed and at an acceptable distance away from the horse. It is illegal to sound your horn when you approach or pass a horse.

#5. If you have a tire blowout while driving, you should:
If a tire blows out, hold the steering wheel firmly, and ease your foot off the gas pedal. If your vehicle skids, handle it as you would on ice or snow. Do not use your brake until your vehicle is under control. Get off the road as soon as it safe to do so.

#6. What is the best way of dealing with a situation where you have had too much to drink?
Things like coffee, exercise and cold showers cannot reduce your BAC and the effects of alcohol. If you regularly go to social events with the same group of friends, rotate drivers. Each friend takes a turn being the designated driver who does not drink any alcohol. Make plans ahead of time, before you start drinking. Another suggestion is to call a cab or use public transportation.

#7. If someone offers you alcohol to drink, and you know you must drive a few hours later, you should:

You are more at risk when driving through the night or at times when you are normally asleep.

#12. You approach an intersection with a stop sign and a stop line painted across the pavement. You must:
When required to stop because of a sign or signal, you must come to a stop before the stop line, if there is one. If not, you must stop before entering the crosswalk. If there is no stop line or crosswalk, you must stop before entering the intersection, at the point nearest the intersection that gives you a view of traffic on the intersecting roadway.

#15. This sign means:
Merge sign. You are approaching a point where other traffic lanes come together with your lane. Watch for traffic from that direction.

#16. When a traffic officer is directing you to drive on the wrong side of the road, you should:
Directions given by traffic officers take precedence over signs, signals, or pavement markings.
If a traffic officer signals you to stop at a green light, for example, you must stop. If an officer signals you to drive through a red light or stop sign, you must do so. Among those authorized to direct traffic are police officers, peace officers such as on-duty auxiliary or fire police, highway work area flag persons, and school crossing guards.

#17. When passing a bicyclist:

You cannot enter an intersection if traffic is backed up on the other side and you cannot get completely through the intersection.
