Our written practice test for a Georgia driver’s license or instructional permit has now been updated. You will find more and improved questions and complete answers.
Our tests are designed to give you an idea of the type of questions that will be asked and to help you pass the test the first time.
The passing score on our Georgia preparation tests is 80% (20 out of 25 questions). This differs from the actual knowledge test, which only requires 75%.
When preparing for your knowledge test, you should make sure your score is well above 80%.
All information necessary to pass the test is included in the driver’s manual. Study it carefully.
DDS knowledge exams are given on a walk-in basis Tuesday through Saturday at every customer service center statewide. The rules tests are available in some non-English languages, but you must show ability to read and understand simple English. Road signs tests and the actual driving test are conducted in English only.
On the real knowledge tests, a set of questions on the meaning of standard highway signs will be given. You will be asked to identify certain signs, signals and markers. You must correctly answer 15 out of 20 questions to pass.
The road rules test consists of a set of questions about driver responsibility, knowledge of laws, and safe driving practices applicable to the class of license for which you are applying. You must correctly answer 15 out of 20 questions to pass.
