Pennsylvania Permit Test No. 1 - Passing score: 84%
Familiarize yourself with the Pennsylvania PennDot permit test. Understand what you need to learn and how to master the license exam with these sample tests.
The passing score in Pennsylvania is 84%. It means you should answer at least 15 out of 18 questions correctly to pass this practice test. The safest tactic, however, is to aim for a full score. Take as many tests as you need to feel comfortable with all answers. Learn by your mistakes. If needed, use the PENNDOT Driver's Manual and read up on the facts.
What If I Fail the Pennylvania Knowledge Test?
A written knowledge test with only 18 questons is not always easier than a test with 50 questions. With a few gaps in your knowledge, you can easily miss more than 3 questions and fail the Pennsylvania driver license test.
If you fail the test, try to understand why and try to remember which questions you missed. These are your weak spots. Don't go back to the PennDOT office the next day and think you will get the same questions, you won't.
Pennsylvania DMV Questions from a Large Pool
Pennsylvania DMV test questions are drawn from a large pool of questions. They will cover road signs, traffic laws, control signals, Pennsylvania driving rules and safe driving practices. Not two DMV tests are exactly the same (at least not in theory). Our DMV practice tests work basically the same. Questions are from a database of 1,000 PA DMV questions.
Use practice tests until you are sure you master all areas. If you fail the real Pennsylvania knowledge test, go back and take several practice ttest. Make sure you fully understand why an answer is correct and why other choices are incorrect.
Found an Error?
Even if all test questions and answers are carefully reviewed and verified against the Pennsylvania Driver's Manual and State laws, there is always a risk of errors in a test when rules change. Let us know if you find something we have missed in our practice tests and we will correct it! (The link below opens in a new tab or window!)
