California Permit Test No. 2 - Passing score: 83%
The passing score in California is 83%. It means you should answer at least 30 out of 36 questions correctly to pass this practice test. The safest tactic, however, is to aim for a full score. Take as many tests as you need to feel comfortable with all answers. Learn by your mistakes. If needed, use the Driver Manual and read up on the facts.
Are the DMV Practice Tests Enough?
What is the secret behind passing the California DMV exam? Is it enough to just take the DMV practice tests? How should you study for the knowledge examination?
It is important to remember, that no two people study the exact same way. What works for some, may not work for others. Researchers, however, have shown that there are some general methods that get better results.
Start with the California driver's manual
It is a good idea to start by scanning the booklet and understand what you need to learn. Every chapter and every word in that study guide counts. Questions on your final written knowledge examination are drawn from all parts of the manual.

Motivation and Endurance
Motivation is one of the most important pieces that will help you succeed on the California knowledge examination.
Endurance is another. Driver's Prep suggests that you take just a few practice tests each day, then return to them the next day. Give the brain time to digest all information from the California manual. Focus on high-quality practice, instead of just quantity.
