It is that easy to make sure you are ready for the real thing!
Get the Latest Connecticut Driver’s Manual
You should start by downloading a free copy of the Manual or get a copy from your local DMV office. The free pdf version is found online at www.ct.gov. Having a pdf version is highly recommended, since it makes it easy to search for certain keywords.
The Connecticut Driver’s Manual is available in English and Spanish. There are also audio versions in these languages. Listening to the audio version can be great when you are on the go. It also makes learning easier.
Even if some find it hard to read everything in the Manual, it is still your best source of information. It contains everything you need to know to pass the knowledge test. Break it up in small pieces and study just a chapter, or perhaps just a page or two, at the time.
Don’t Try to Cram
Plan your studies well ahead of your test and don’t try to cram everything in a week or two. Learning the rules of the road and safe driving takes time and patience.
How to Use the Permit Practice Tests
The permit practice tests can be used as a condensed study guide. Every answer has a comment which is there to remind you of important key points from the Manual. Answers and comments will contain everything you need to pass the DMV knowledge test the first time around.
This, however, does NOT mean that the practice tests should be used as cheat sheets. Questions on your real tests may be identical to the practice test questions, and then again, they may not! We can only promise that the will be similar.
Also, our Connecticut practice tests are based on well over 1,000 questions, which means that it is unlikely that you will see all questions when you take your practice tests – and this is not necessary.
After all, it is your TRUE knowledge that actually counts when you are behind the wheel.
Ready for Your Connecticut DMV test?
By the time you have read the Connecticut Driver’s Manual a couple of times and taken enough practice tests to reach 90% with ease, you are ready for the real 25-question knowledge test. Remember to take your time. There are no trick questions at the CT DMV written test. It is, however, easy to trick yourself by adding your own information. Careful and attentive reading is a must here. Pay attention to what is actually asked. Review all alternatives and try eliminate the ones that are clearly wrong. This usually leaves you with just one correct answer.
