Auto insurance fraud in New York cost drivers in the state more than $240 million last year. The state recently passed a bill which would make it a felony to intentionally cause a vehicle collision. It is designed to be a deterrent for the criminals who prey on innocent motorists in an effort to benefit from insurance fraud.

No to Tougher Seat Belt Law

Nevada state senate committee said no to a tougher seat belt law. Current law allows officers to issue a citation only if the driver is stopped for another traffic infraction. The proposed law would allow police to stop a motorist and issue a citation solely for not wearing a seat belt.
